Martin Silverman Biography

Martin qualified as a Solicitor in 1983 and as a Notary Public in 1992. He has been a Partner in IBB Solicitors of Uxbridge and Chesham since 1986.

Martin is head of compliance at IBB Solicitors and is responsible for the firm’s risk management procedures and oversight covering its regulation by the SRA and the FSA, professional indemnity insurance, anti-money laundering and client satisfaction.

In addition Martin Silverman is a qualified financial adviser having gained the Chartered Insurers Institute Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) in 2004 and more recently in 2010 he has added the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS)

As a Notary Public, Martin is able to authenticate documents for use overseas. He is well versed in Notarial practice and draws upon his considerable experience to help and advise his clients on the requirements of the ultimate receiving country for the proper execution of the document. This can often involve arranging for documents to be presented at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office for an Apostille under the Hague Convention or, where required, at the Consulate or Embassy of the relevant country.

Martin prides himself on his speed of turn around for his clients and enjoys getting out and about to see clients where deadlines are tight and the demands of the business clients means that their time is short.

Martin is a fluent French speaker which comes in handy when dealing with some of the notary work that comes his way and often is able to assist both with communications to his clients and with foreign lawyers.

When he is not busy doing all of the above, Martin relaxes by spending time in France especially in the Paris region where he has a second home. The joys of modern communications mean that he is still able to keep in touch and serve clients at all times.
